This service does not award grants to local youth projects but will consider supporting partnership projects if they share similar aims.

The Community Development Youth Officer is also happy to advise and support local artists, art organisations and community groups in Waverley if they wish to apply for funding.

Here you'll find information on sources of funding for youth projects and contact details.

National

Youth Opportunity Fund and Youth Capital Fund
The Government introduced the Youth Opportunity and the Youth Capital Fund, which was a substantial resource of funding of 115 million for two years in April 2006 to March 2008 with Surrey receiving 2.1 million.

Take Part, Take Power is a Government initiative that aims to empower young people to act and apply for this funding as long as it meets one of the five outcomes of "Every Child Matters" and that grants increase things to do and places to go for young people in their community.

The Youth Opportunities Fund (YOF) and Youth Capital Fund (YCF) has now been extended for a further year for 2010 -2011.  We are still awaiting notification of Waverley's allocation and grant appication forms will be available shortly.

The money for Waverley will continue to be allocated by the young people on the youth council who established a grant-giving panel and under gone the grant giving training for YOF and YCF funds. Further funding is available via a County Inclusion Panel, which is also made up of Surrey young people. This is an exciting opportunity and now in Surrey there is a democratic structure for young people to take a real role in decision-making.
