Armed Forces Day

A Tri-Service Cadet parade, to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the establishment of the Cadet Force Movement, takes place in Godalming on Saturday.
To coincide with Armed Forces Day, the County's main event is a Tri-Service Cadet parade taking place in Godalming on Saturday 26 June, which will see around 300 Cadets from the Sea Cadet Corps, the Army Cadet Force and the Air Training Corps, including a Cadet Band, parading through the town. In addition, a Canoe Race from Guildford to Godalming on the River Wey will take place between the Sea Cadets and the Army Cadets involving 48 competitors. Other activities will include a military display, a national fundraising prize presentation and a ceremonial tree planting to mark the anniversary.
