We've taken another step forward in making it easy for you to find out how we spend our money and other important information.

Earlier this year we published details of all invoice payments made in 2009/10 on our Payments to creditors list which is available quarterly.

First for openess

We were the first borough council in the country to put our 'Spotlight on spend' in an easy to use format, online. You can now view all payments over £500 to suppliers by service area here. The information is hosted by data analysts 'Spikes Cavell' who specialise in the presentation of data in a simple format.

Cllr Robert Knowles (Con), Leader of Waverley and councillor responsible for Corporate Strategy, says: "The government has said that they want to increase transparency across the public sector and we are pleased to be ahead of the game by being one of the first authorities to publish our data. We are committed to working efficiently and providing value for money to you, by being open about what we spend, and how we spend it."

First for innovation

Mary Orton, Waverley's Chief Executive, says: "Publishing the information in this easy to use format demonstrates our focus on openness and value for money. We were one of the first councils in the country to open up our decision-making process to the public by webcasting meetings and we are proud to be one of the first to publish how we spend our money."

First for transparency

We will soon publish information relating to pay and benefits for all staff earning over £58,200 per annum.
